Aion Limited Personal Shop Times
2010 - 7 - 30The launch of Aion is one of the big events in MMO world. Before it is available, it has taken nearly 400,000 preorders. The game then launched officially in the US on the Tuesday 22nd, and in Europe on Friday 25th.
Many Aion players experienced long server queues when trying to log in at peak times. It is as much as 2-3 hours and 1500 people long. This scared people that have never seen queues in the past, and many figured out they could set up a personal shop with ridiculous prices to stay idle without getting kicked. But this personal shop things caused more problems.
Aion brought the servers down at 6:00AM PST (more), September 25th, for maintenance. It means that Aion takes steps to prevent folks from abusing the personal shop system in order to remain online during peak hours. Now there will be 30 minute limit on player soters.
Players were angered to witness a sea of AFK players utilizing the player store to keep their characters from being logged out while they were unavailable to play in turn avoiding the queue themselves when logging into game, after an often long queue. These players would leave a outrageously high priced item in their store, nearly guaranteeing that they would not be booted until their return making it even more difficult for other players to log in.
The maintenance shows that Aion does not just implement changes that Korea pushes out but also changes things independently in US and EU. The Anti Player Store Abuse action is really a good move.
